DFI GISBORNE | Day 2

Working with workflow... be the Pig! 🥓🥓🥓

Reflection of learning today:

It was a day of learning, creativity, complexity and growth. Today's focus on shifting workflow systems and mechanisms has been valuable in changing the way I think about my weekly workflow. Developing a strategy and committing to it is essential to successfully achieving my overall outcome. More time!

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

Increased understanding of the connection between common understanding of the learn create share model, and the benefits it brings to bring about to connect people and organisation. Universal language of learning!

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

I have improved confidence in using Hangouts as a tool to power-up collaboration and conversation. It was an added bonus to try the screen recording tool LOOM to record the hangout. Worked really well!

Check out our group video below. Thanks Susanne and David! That was a very fun experience! :)

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

Using LOOM in combination with Google Hangouts to have discussions and 'drive the car' when using real life online collaborative meetings. Good practise if you are thinking of visiting somewhere online, or taking a guided tour with your class.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

About the importance committing to making changes to the way my workflow is setup - working hard now to setup a better tomorrow. Investing in time now, to save time in the future. In short. Be the pig!

Thanks for the day people! :)

  1. Hi Herman
I love your energy and enthusiasm that you have during our DFI time ... so inspiring. Your recording of Google Hangout with Loom was very well captured. This is an area I have no experience in at all and found I froze during my groups activity and I was the silent type!!
Like you I am looking at developing a smooth workflow practice to help stream line my work day. On my 'To Do' list is now an upgrade of my phone!! This I will be chatting about with you on Friday hopefully for guidance.
    See you then :)

  3. Hi Herman, Good on you for planning to make adjustments to your workflow setup for long term gains!
I'm curious - perhaps you can explain on friday, what's the 'drive the car' example mean?
